Discussion/Forum Board

We understand that we all might not have the same viewpoints, especially when it comes to controversial topics. Each visitor will have varying thoughts on each and every topic due to differences in upbringing, denomination, political affiliation, religion (or, even lack thereof), and many more.

We simply ask that in lieu of these differences, that you would “conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ” Philippians 1:27. Let us not try to ignore our differences, but, rather, let us discuss them, and bring each of our viewpoints to the table, so that we may accurately see what the gosepl of Christ has in store for us.

Whenever possible, let us try to mimic the following format (explained on the infographic, as well) when bringing ideas to the board:

1: Agree/disagree. Explain your position, and why you hold it.

2: Critique. Offer constructive criticisms, and present your counterpoints without hostility.

3: Expand. Feel free to play Devil’s advocate to get the conversation moving, but do so politely. Often, multiple sides of a topic should be discussed in order to see the full picture, or to be able to better understand each others’ points of view.

4: Exemplify. Provide further explanation, such as life experiences and personal testimonies of why you take a certain stand or position on a topic.
